Proprietary 16 Million Key/Lock Cylinders
With increasing media attention on 'Bump Keys' that enable burglars to evade detection and Bolt Cutters that play a similar role for low-end hasp lockers, it may be surprising that the locker security standard was set over 75 years ago with American Locker's 2-Key Coin/Token-Operated Security Lock. The key (pun intended) is in using 16 million unique codes, restricting duplications, and safeguarding customer codes. The flexibility to accept virtually all coins/tokens and change settings (coin-collect, coin-accept, free operation) makes Proprietary Security Keys a modern-day engineering innovation that can't be beat. In the case of lost/missing keys, facility removes (via separate control key) and returns for credit the now-unusable lock cylinder to American Locker's Service Center, and we return to the customer a new 'replacement key/lock set' for continued usage. This mantra of System Integrity has made the orange cap key an iconic piece of Americana. The secret is the enduring concept of 1 Key Per Lock.
